Onc of the true pleasures of this job, in addition to driving a lot ofrnbrand-new boats (usually in a lot of pretty nice places), is getting the chance to talk to the people who make them - and to the people who buy them. Over the years, everybody has said this is a people business.The longer I do this, the more I realize how true that is.rnI also have realized the people who enjoy themselves most are those with the most passion, the ones who truly care about what they're doing. That's equally true for the designers and builders as it is for the end users. Many times, in fact, that's the same group. Those who build the boats are often people who started out, or ended up, using them as well. Scott Porter, the head of Formula, used to race his boats in the offshore circuit, for example.
