Nanoparticle Formation via Low Pressure Spray Pyrolysis: Physical Fundamentals and Puzzles

摘要

Evaporative cooling of droplets of an aqueous solution in the aerosol reactor is the main process leading to the formation of supersaturated solution in droplets. It is shown that the nucleation in this metastable solution, the coalescence and the Brownian diffusion of nanoparticles determines the growth and the morphology of the nanoparticles ensemble. Main governing parameters are discussed. Experimental results on chemical transformations of nanoparticles inside droplet are presented. It was proven that these chemical transformations depend on total pressure in the aerosol reactor. Our experiments shown that important stage of Low Pressure Spray Pyrolysis is the electrostatic deposition of femtoliter droplets on a substrate of electrode -holder. Experimental results are discussed for two kinds of substrates.
