Good neighbors are nice to have and the North Dakota National Guard has been getting an invaluable assist from its neighbors to the east during the stubborn flood season. The Minnesota Guard deployed about 120 personnel to assist in the Minot area last month. Their involvement was part of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact. "The Minnesota Guard soldiers have displayed an excellent attitude while assisting Minot during this disaster," said Command Sgt. Major Norman Deschene of the North Dakota Army Guard's 136th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. "They are tackling their missions with a commitment to do the right thing, being helpful to citizens and take care of Minot."
