A lot of numbers were tossed around during the first week of last month.rnPresident Obama gave Congress his defense budget request for fiscal 2011. The Air Force released its aircraft investment plan for the next 30 years. And the Defense Department made public its 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR).rnNot surprisingly, there were common themes.rnFor the National Guard, the president's defense budget was reassuring news. The Pentagon seems willing to back up its commitment to ensure the Guard's readiness as an operational force. Nearly every funding area saw a modest increase.rnThis is a document we can work with and build upon as NGAUS and other Guard stakeholders pursue our top legislative priorities.
