AHP Rank Reversal, The impacts of scale, normalization and aggregation rules

摘要

During recent years, existence of rank reversal after adding or deleting any of alternatives has been the main criticism of AHP. According to the literature, there are three factors that seemed to play a significant role in AHP rank reversal; 1. Additive function, 2. Measurement scale and 3. Normalization method. While, many researches tried to examine the effect of each of these factors individually, there is a lack of comprehensive approach to investigate effects of all factors together. Therefore, in this paper, we see all of the factors together. In addition, similarities and differences in the model behavior in case of adding copy of best and worst alternatives have been investigated. The findings of this study reveal that some methods better than others are. For instance, logarithmic scale (for different aggregation rules and normalization method) will show better performance than other scales (minimum rank reversal), etc.
