摘要

This year the Lithuanian Navy marked its second anniversary of the membership in NATO. These two years were full of both challenges and achievements. The Navy has been deeply engaged simultaneously working in NATO context and national defence field. Recently approved national defence guidelines envisage that the Navy is supposed to carry out its traditional tasks of EEZ and territorial sea patrolling and surveillance, littoral defence operating in close synergy with Army and Air Force. NATO side of tasks spectrum is mostly concentrated around mine countermeasures capabilities.
