The Spanish Navy and Navantia signed the Execution Order for the building of four Naval Operations Ships. These units will be built in the Bay of Cadiz shipyards and the last of them will be delivered at the end of 2010. The Naval Operations Ship's definition process has been the result of close cooperation and joint, simultaneous work on the part of the Navy and Navantia in defining requirements and technical consolidation aimed at achieving high performance ships with a high degree of communality, a high level of versatility, high standards of quarters for crews and low acquisition and maintenance costs.
