In more than two years since the Istanbul Summit, NATO has grown significantly stronger. The Alliance has demonstrated that it can translate its ideas and initiatives into extensive projects. In the past two years, the ISAF mission has been effectively expanded, and we have witnessed Afghanistan's successful elections and many positive developments in the country. The NATO Training Mission in Iraq, aunched in Istanbul, has now emerged as a broader training initiative. The commitment to transform our military capabilities has resulted in concrete political guidance, numerous collective projects, and a fully operational NATO Response Force.
