I would like to stress the transformation experienced, during the last few years, by the concept of national security that widely transcends the simple idea of territorial sovereignty. Today this concept means the defence of the Nation, the security of its citizens, the stability of international order and the world in peace. The natural consequence is the difficulty to draw the line between internal and external security. Both must be considered as a whole.
