Acircle of scientists is gazing skyward, as if watching a ball fly through the air as they play an animated game of catch. But there is no ball - and this game is serious work. It is part of an exercise to help 12 scientists at the University of Connecticut (UConn) Health Center in Farmington to boost their communication skills. These scientists are engaged in improvisation, a spontaneous, reactive interaction mode more traditionally seen in comedy performances.
