Biological researchers are churning out life-changing discoveries at record-breaking pace, thanks largely to recent advances in "omics" - a term that refers to the fields of study ending in omics including genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics among others. In fact, omics-based technologies will propel market growth for drug discovery technologies and products to $79 billion by 2017 according to Global Information Inc. Here's a look at some of these latest technological advancements spanning the omics spectrum.
