摘要

The human genome encodes thousands of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), but their biological functions are mostly unknown. Markus Kretz et al. now identify and characterize a 3.7-kilobase IncRNA, named TINCR, which controls epidermal differentiation by stabilizing the mRNA of an array of differentiation genes. TINCR also combines with the RNA-binding protein staufenl to form a complex that stabilizes differentiation transcripts.
