From Target to Therapeutic Compound Drug discovery is big business, with many pharmaceutical companies spending billions of dollars a year on the development of new therapeutics. Therefore, new approaches and technologies that increase the efficiency of target selection, high-throughput screening (HTS) of compounds-and scale-up for in-depth compound testing are enthusiastically adopted, ultimately saving such companies vast sums of money. Here, we take a look at some of the solutions currently available to help optimize the drug discovery process.
