A former NASA scientist has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after admitting that he tried to sell classified information to Israel. Stewart Nozette was a distinguished expert on defence and space technology, and principal investigator for the radar instrument on NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. He worked for a series of US government agencies in the 1980s and 1990s. He was arrested in October 2009 after an FBI sting operation, and made a plea deal with prosecutors on 7 September.
