Many laboratory processes and protocols require a number of automated liquid handling steps - from precise nanoliter pipetting through to high throughput sample re-formatting. As a result, a whole range of devices and platforms have been developed to meet these expanding requirements. Here we look at some of the more recent introductions, including precision pumps and automated dispensers, that are pushing forward the area of automated liquid handling.
