An Introduction to the Logic of the Sciences. By R. Harre - This is a very welcome book. It should be said at the outset that the author's intention to write largely for undergraduates in science may prove a little on the modest side, since many students working for higher degrees would probably produce substantially better theses if they could find time to read what Dr. Harre has to relate ... The grand point is that - from the aspect of discovery - disciplined insight came first, and the application of mathematical analysis afterwards.
