Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) are small variations between individual genomes that are estimated to occur once every 100-300 bases. Detecting these genome variations is critical to understand polygenic diseases and can also provide new targets for drug discovery. In order to meet this challenge, a range of new technologies have been advanced to accurately detect and catalogue SNP variations.
