A taste or smell. problem may seem like a relatively minor health issue to some, however these disorders can have a major impact on a person's quality of life, food preferences, diet, and overall health. Taste and smell problems are often associated with high-priority health risks, such as poor nutrition, adult-onset diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. In addition, a decline in the sense of smell often serves as an indicator of future cognitive problems, such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
