Onpage 146 of this issue, Hattori et al. report the discovery of a distant cluster of galaxies that is massive and bright in X-rays, but surprisingly dark optically - containing only one visible galaxy, it has extremely anomalous optical properties (Fig. 1). In most theories of structure formation, massive clusters at high redshift should be rich in galaxies.
