Alexandria Shipyard Company celebrated the handover of the cor-vette ENS Port Said (976) as the first Egyptian GOWIND corvette last January. She will now join the surface fleet to carry out her combat mis-sions. ENS Port Said was launched in 2018, and she is the first warship to be built with 100 percent Egyptian capacity, mainly resulting from technology transfer from France's Naval Group. The 2,600-tonne full displacement combatant is equipped with facilities for an embarked helicopter and drones, also accommodating 65 crew members. Fitment also includes Naval Group's SETIS combat management system (in-cluding the panoramic sensors and intelligence module or PSIM), as well as a panoramic bridge and a single enclosed mast, both offering 360-degree visibility.
