Sur le plan météorologique, il n'est pas possible de renseigner fiable-ment et complètement un équipage « très long courrier » au stade de son briefing. Il peut en résulter des prises de carburant conservatoires qui vont à rencontre de l'optimisation de l'exploitation. Compte tenu de la nécessaire actualisation de l'information des pilotes en cours de vol, à l'aide des moyens de communication nouveaux air/sol/air, il appartient aux instances internationales de légiférer rapidement sur les modes de distribution de cette information. Dans un premier temps, les associations d'usagers devraient recenser leurs besoins et communiquer leur desiderata aux autorités compétentes.%From a meteorological standpoint, it is not possible to thoroughly and completly brief a « very long haul » flightcrew prior to departure. This situation could lead up to excessive fuel uplifts which would go against optimization of flight operations. Hence, bearing in mind the necessary updating of pilot's information during the flight with modern means of communication air/ground/air, it falls upon international bodies to lay down, without delay, new rules for the broadcasting of such information. To start with, users associations should establish their operational requirements and voice their requests to the official authorities.
