Web standards-based animations are maturing. Whether you just want to add a few simple effects to your sites or go full-blown 3D, it's all possible now in modern browsers. There's even a new spec in the works aiming to overcome some limitations and unify some of the current models (which is creatively called Web Animations 1.0).This issue, Google's Martin Gorner explains - with the help of some stunning graphics - what you can achieve with CSS3, HTML5 canvas, SVG and WebGL, helping you choose which technology is right for your project.
