It's a source of pride for an IT staff to be virtually invisible. Even so, there are downsides to invisibility, especially for security personnel. Some might mistake a lack of presence for a lack of effectiveness. Security is about trust. How can you trust someone associated only with negative events? Don't let your presence become the equivalent of flashing lights and sirens.
