The government-backed scheme to create an army of registered digital-television aerial installers has been dealt a major blow after the UK's largest aerial industry group, which represents more than 8,000 engineers, withdrew its support. The Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) has created its own scheme to prepare its members for the demands of digital switchover. The association said that its scheme placed less onerous requirements on aerial installers than the government's.
