Top Up TV, the UK digital-ter-restrial pay-television service, had nearly 160,000 subscribers in mid-December, according to figures obtained by New Media Markets from industry sources. The company, whose service launched on March 31,2004, was adding more than 2,000 subscribers per day and seems well on the way to achieving its breakeven target of 250,000 subscribers. It is understood that Top Up TV has now set a target of 300,000 subscribers by the end of 2005.
