In the domestic Japanese steel industry, the Japan Iron and Steel Federation has incorporated the self-imposed action plan relating to measures to prevent global warming and it is striving to achieve the goal of a reduction in the amount of energy of the entire steel industry in 2010 to 10/100 compared to 1990. Furthermore, the Environmental Effect Evaluation law has been completely enforced since June, 1999. We have stated how titanium is environmentally friendly from the viewpoint of this Evaluation system.
