The aTM Wireless Access System, which can offer user bit rates of about 10Mbit/s, is expected to achieve high bit rate multimedia wireless services. A prototype based on the concept of ATM Wireless Access has been developed. It achieves transmission speed of 80Mbit/s in the 25-GHz band by means of Several new technologies such as PRIME ARQ and space diversity with sector antennas. This paper de- Scribes design and performance of the prototype.
