摘要

The Nuclear Academic Industry Liaison Seminar was set up many years ago to aid the transfer of nuclear knowledge between universities and the nuclear industry in the UK. Meetings were bi-annual with one meeting associated with the Universities Nuclear Technology Forum the long-standing annual conference for nuclear students. As the interest in nuclear has grown over the last few years, so have the NAILS meetings with much more news and information to discuss. In 2008 a sub-committee of NAILS was formed to assess whether bi-annual meetings were sufficient to keep universities and industry up to date with what the other was doing. A consensus was quickly reached that it was not and other forms of communication should be investigated. This was the basis for the decision to establish the Nuclear Liaison website.
