A shire in Western Australia's north-west is the latest group to confirm it has nominated a parcel of land as a potential future location to dump low and medium level radioactive waste. The Shire of East Pilbara has submitted an expression of interest to the Federal Government for a site near the Marble Bar airport, about 12 kilometres from the township and bordering pastoral land.
