Electricite de France said it will modify pipe supports on the steam generator auxiliary feedwater system of 14 PWRs to remedy a design defect first discovered in 2005 and confirmed last month.rnEDF said that the design of the affected supports will be modified "to correct [their] fragility" related to lateral restraint. But because the work will be on the supports, rather on the piping itself, the work can be done while the reactors are operating and there will thus be no impact on production, it said.
