We want to express our most sincere appreciation to the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) for collaborating to provide the resources to make this special issue of Oceanography on ocean acidification a reality. We also would like to thank Ellen Kappel and her excellent staff for their efforts to work closely with the authors to finalize the manuscripts and integrate thernartwork into the articles.
