DMAE activities concern external flows, for instance around an aircraft, and flows inside engines from the angle of physical models. Associated work covers the following areas: laminar-turbulent transition and flow instabilities, turbulent flows, aerothermodynamics, aero-thermodynamics of atmospheric reentry, acoustics, two-phase flows, rocket engines. Studies carried out at DMAE are always finalized and aim over time towards applications to aircraft, helicopters, launchers, reentry vehicles and turbomachines.
