摘要

We proposed a simple structure optical fiber temperature sensor, which is easy to be fabricated and used. The fiber sensor is made by polishing the optical fiber end to be 30 degrees angle and its operating principle is based on Michelson interferometer. In order to demonstrate the performance of the fabricated temperature sensor, we carried out low temperature experiment (- 40 degrees C-140 degrees C) and high temperature experiment (250 degrees C-900 degrees C) with two different kinds of thermostats. The results show us that the temperature sensitivity of the sensor increases with increasing temperature both in the low temperature range (- 40 degrees C-140 degrees C) and in the high temperature range (250 degrees C-900 degrees C). The measured temperature sensitivity is 9.5 pm/degrees C at - 40 degrees C and the measured temperature sensitivity is 17.86 pm/degrees C at 900 degrees C.
