摘要

In this paper, a phase demodulation of photonic crystal fiber Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) sensor based on fiber ball symmetrical structure was proposed and experimentally demonstrated in this paper. The MZI was realized by spliced a certain length of photonic crystal fiber between two single-mode fiber ball. The measurement of temperature was realized by analyzing the phase variation of the selected dominant mode, which showed more robust and accurate compared with the conventional peak wavelength tracking technique. The spectral characteristics at different photonic crystal fiber (PCF) lengths were analyzed. The proposed sensor has the advantages of compact structure, simple manufacturing process, and high reliability.
