摘要

The dependencies of refractive index increase in quenched proton exchanged layers in LiMO_3 (M = Nb,Ta) on time and quenching temperature are studied. For both HxLl xMO_3 (M = Nb,Ta) systems the metastable--stable phase transitions are detected over wide hydrogen concentration regions by index variation in heating--quenching cycles. It is shown that the transitions are the main source of refractive index instabilities in proton exchanged waveguide layers on the basis of LiMO_3 (M = Nb,Ta).
