摘要

Absorption spectra for Tm~3+ doped alkali chloroborophosphate glasses are recorded in the UV--VIS and NIR regions. The assigned energy level data of Tm~3+ (4f~12) in these glasses are analysed in terms of a parametrized Hamil- tonian model that includes 14 free-ion parameters. From the measured oscillator strengths of the absorption bands, the intensity parameters, Ω are calculated by using the Judd--Ofelt theory. Using these data, radiative transition proba- bilities, radiative lifetimes, branching ratios and integrated absorption cross-sections for 3~P_o l~D_2 and 1~G_4 fluorescent levels are calculated. Certain laser transitions are predicted.
