The planned acquisition, first announced Oct. 2, 2018, of digital postpress equipment manufacturer MBO Group by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is completely finished. The German Federal Cartel Office, the antitrust authority that tegulates and prohibits what it deems to be monopolies or cattels, struck down the proposed deal. As a result, both companies will move fotward and continue to opetate as separate and independent entities.
