The folding carton business is so stable, that at first glance it might even seem a little boring. But boring is not always a bad thing. Shipments are more or less flat, but "flat" still adds up to billions of dollars of revenue for printers and converters in the largest segment of the North American packaging market. Substrate supplies are adequate, and prices aren't jangling nerves. Competitive threats to folding cartons and those who produce them are real enough, but they aren't doing any irreparable damage.
