This label represents a new brand and label design. Particular challenges included applying everything to a 70-lb. felt paper. The paper texture can impact the printing, foiling and spot varnishing. The designer worked closely with our production team. To get the embossing look, a carefully embossed brass die was used. It resulted in a great interplay with the copper foil stamping. The spot gloss varnish over the word "Precision" and over selective gray circle areas also added a special touch. The two-piece diecut angle made things more challenging on the diecutting operator. Lastly, the registration between all elements (diecutting, printing, embossing, foiling and spot varnishing) was critical and a lot to monitor. The end result was a noel design that hit the "precision" target the winery and designer hoped for.
