Air Motion Systems, Inc. has introduced its PEAK LED-UV product series, a high-power LED-based UV curing technology slated for general availability in the digital, offset, and flexographic industry segments. The system is built around a high brightness chip platform that achieves at least twice the radiant power available from recent-generationrnUV LEDs, and operates on 20 percent of the electricityrnrequired of a conventional mercury arc lamp. Asrna 100 percent solid-state device, there are nornmoving parts to maintain in the LED UVrnmodule, no heat is emitted from the light source, and with a 20.000+ hour estimat-rned life of the LEDs, the system potentially never requires a lamp change.
