The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 may have pumped some cash into a few pockets earlier this year, but for Mid-York Press in Sherburne, N.Y., it also initiated a series of new equipment installations. What began as a discussion about updating its 1997-model offset press became a larger conversation with customers about the need for suppliers that would continue to upgrade technology despite an economic downturn. With the added incentives of the Economic Stimulus Act in mind, Mid-York Press President and CEO Bob Tenney turned to Heidelberg, resulting in the purchase and installation of a 6-color Speedmaster CD 102 press, a Diana Pro 114 folding carton gluer and a POLAR 137 cutter. "Our packaging customers in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries are financially strong, and they are excited about our new Heidelberg equipment, which has the technology advancements to meet their growing needs," Tenney said. "State-of-the-art technology is key to producing the high-quality results that our customers require, and Heidelberg offered exactly what we needed."
