The merger with SCA over two years ago doubled the size of DS Smith, which makes an annual turnover of around £4bn from about 21,000 staff around the group who sold six billion boxes last year. More than 80% of all corrugated goods is recycled back into boxing material. Sales and marketing director Tony Foster explains more. How has business been for your company in the past year? Business has been really good: we've hit all our targets and enjoyed growth across Europe of around 2%. Our packaging has been nominated for numerous awards and customers now talk to us not just about supplying packaging but adding value - a big cultural shift.
