Oakland International has appointed Barry Davies as the company's new managing director. Davies was previously managing director of logistics for AF Blakemore & Son, an eight-year tenure that saw business double in size to a turnover of £1.2bn. With a keen interest in minimising the impact to the environment throughout the supply chain, he introduced a recycling centre and a range of double deck trailers for multi-drop deliveries/ collections while achieving the environmental ISO 14001 standard together with carbon and sustainability awards. Davies said: "Having been a customer of Oakland I'm encouraged by the reputation it upholds."
