Packaging distribution specialist Macfarlane Group has sold its Irish plastics business to Belgian closures group Procap for ￡1.7m.rnMacfarlane Plastics, which is based in County Wicklow in Ireland, will become part of the Procap network which covers the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg and Belgium.rnThe Irish business employs 36 staff and specialises in plastic injection-moulded packaging for a range of sectors including petrochemicals, food, medical and pharmaceutical.rnThe deal is the third bout of M&A activity in a year for Macfarlane, following the acquisitions of distribution firms Allpoint Packaging in October and OnlinernPackaging at the beginning of 2008.
