The number of visitors to last month's Easyfairs Packaging Innovations, Ecopack, Packtech and Contract Pack shows almost doubled compared with the organiser's 2007 UK exhibition. Easyfairs UK managing director Peter Heath said the attendance of 3,925 people over the two-day event highlighted the "pivotal role packaging plays in today's society". Dean Brown, packaging development engineer for Home Retail Group, which owns Argos and Homebase, said the show was a "breeding ground for new ideas". Easyfairs also said that more than half of the exhibitors from this year's Packaging Innovations show had already signed up for next year's event.
