Interflex Group (Scotland) was not just the only packager shortlisted for this year's BPW-Printing World 2008 Lean Excellence Award, but it won the accolade, too: a fantastic achievement. The standard of entries for the 2008 Lean Excellence Award was very high and the judges commented on the year-on-year improvement in the quality of submissions. Steve Whitehead, manufacturing manager for News International and guest judge for 2008, said: "The general quality of submissions was very high and I was extremely impressed with the energy and imagination that Interflex has employed in its use of lean."rnInterflex employs 90 people, is based in Edinburgh and has been providing the UK food industry with innovative packaging solutions for more than 100 years. Its lean journey started three years ago with a Vision in Print Premier Snapshot. It then completed a series of five Booster programmes, also with Vision in Print.
