Bericap, the German closure manufacturer, expects to increase capacity of its SuperShorty cap for PET beer bottles to more than five billion units by next spring.rnThe SuperShorty was adapted last year to the new German standard for PET beer bottles, PCO 1881, and the firm has since converted 20 lines.rnA company spokesman said it would be presenting the SuperShorty to UK brewers, but recognised that "not all beer markets are ready" to move into PET.rn"Our biggest markets are Europe and Asia, which is growing strongly, and North America is about to follow," he said.
