A throat lozenge manufacturer has installed Ishida equipment at its Swiss plant in a bid to enhance throughput. Ricola of Laufen, Switzerland has been making herbal confectionery for more than 70 years and has built up a dedicated customer base all over the world. It has upgraded its line in a bid to reduce the levels of product chipping and breakage. Anew 12-head Ishida weigher has been installed on Ricola's new line. The kit has been designed with short drop distances, while the discharge chute is divided into sections to minimise product swirling and reduce collisions. Ricola made the investment as part of an expansion within the factory resulting in moving a packing line that handled 100, 250 and 400g tins.
