Medica Packaging, the pharmaceutical packaging business of Benson Group, has unveiled a new carton called Chrysalis. The product has been designed to incorporate the patient information leaflet within the carton structure, helping to ensure that the two do not become separated. According to Crewe-based Medica, the easy-tear perforation on the back panel of the pack allows the consumer to access information without destroying the whole carton. Chrysalis Carton sales director Deborah Greenwood said: "The innovative design also has the ability to simplify the manufacturing process. As the carton is supplied with the leaflet already applied, there is no need to insert it separately. This allows for increased output through faster product inserting, while simultaneously decreasing costs."
