There was some good news for the UK's jobs market last month: Jaguar Land Rover announced the creation of 1,000 new jobs at its Merseyside factory; Nissan is creating 2,000 positions in Sunderland; and supermarket behemoth Tesco is creating 20,000 new jobs. It's welcome news for the Government as it attempts to rebalance the economy. The pressure is on the private sector to boost employment as the public sector shrinks. But there's still a long way to go. UK unemployment rose to 2.67m during the three months to January with the unemployment rate standing at 8.4%. Of prime concern is the youth unemployment figure — there are just over 1 m people aged between 16-24 year old without a job.
